I missed the last rally and I regret it. There was a moment in time when we were all really energized. The flower campaign was brilliant. But now we seem to have lost that fire - me included! I dont even remember my dates anymore. I know we have a serious problem of getting people together for anything. But starting small in our own cities and connecting to a national IV would probably work. I am here in Sterling Heights, MI (Detroit Metro Area) and I am willing to host people in my area It will be great if others in other cities can do that too. I am dre. ming, but think about it if this works. We can march to washigton again such large numbers that everyone will notice. I really think its time to get together and do something. Bouncing ideas on IV boards is great but lets meet and get to know each other and see if can talk about this problem face to face across the country. Thats what grassroot effort it!. If nothing, we will find new friends in each other. I hope to find that fire in us again and I thank you for reading my post!

I am not sure whether to go for EB2 filing in PERM or wait one more year to file i485 (hope PD will reach 2003 september by next year october ). Even if i start EB2 perm now it's going to take at least one year to clear labor and i140 (if every thing smooth).

But fun aside, you're right. Times of India makes it sound as if H1Bs pretty much run everything and create everything and that H1Bs are like rockstars or something.
One reason I never read Times of India is that they somehow have figured out to beat pop-up blockers and my screen fills up with pop ups for airlines agents and phone cards and its really irritating.
Secondly, their content is becoming like a tabloid's content would be.

you should be getting your greencard soon, bush is giving greencards to legals.

I'm not sure of whether or not a company can file for your labor while you are on your EAD. Now i'm curious.
Please do post an update about this question and others in this thread once your attorney consult is done. Myself and other IVians would certainly appreciate it.

It took about 4 weeks. Do you have H1-B extension? If so, I would suggest to use that instead of waiting for AP. The AP has new date instead of old one. Good Luck in getting the AP sooner.

Guys ... please help. I am trying to get PCC from my local police station and they are giving me hell time here... and I am running out of time. The local police station guys are saying that they will only give a letter in white paper (No letter head) and they are insisting that it will not be used. What shall I do and I have to submit my documents by tuesday by latest.....

also any adivice o what is the best way to transfer 401 to india.. withdraw immeditately or wait till 591/2 years..
Not sure about SS benefit. You can't do anything anyway with it now. If you are young, consider it gone even if you were US citizen at the moment.
If you withdraw your 401K now, you will have to pay taxes, plus 10% penalty probably. Depanding on your employer's 401K program policy, some allows money to stay if it exceeds certain minimum. Be sure to check the vesting policy. You can always roll it over to an IRA of your choice.

Next time you fly into India, THANK the security folks for taking care of security day in and day out.
After all they are also human beings. They work in one of the most unmotivating work environments. Worse than those in GC Q's.
If each of us did this, imagine the power of change... and they will be more motivated to secure and protect all...
Just a simple "Thanks for taking care of us all"... and not too much to arouse suspicion :)

If I use new one(which is valid), isn't it in contra with AOS application?

Now I am working for a company in OPT .
My OPT start at 7/10/2006
My OPT end at 7/9/2007
add 60 days Grace period ,so the date will be 9/7/2007
So 9/7/2007 till 10/1/2007 will have 24 days GAP.
How can I do to solve it ?
You can not work after 7/9/2007.
The end of the OPT will determine when you must stop working.
The 60 days grace period is only for you to take care of business before you go back home. In your case you must wait for 2 months and 24 days before returning to work otherwise you will be in violation of your status.
